Homicide

How does Ohio Law define Homicide?

Homicide is the intentional or unintentional killing of another human being. A manslaughter charge involves negligent or accidental killing, while murder is intentional and/or premeditated.

Defense Attorney Sherman is skilled at defending against these charges:

  • Aggravated Murder
  • Murder
  • Voluntary Manslaughter
  • Involutary Manslaughter
  • Reckless Homicide
  • Negligent Homicide
  • Vehicular Homicide
  • Vehicular Manslaughter

Depending on the circumstances of your case, several defenses may be available including offering proof that someone else committed the crime, or the killing was done in self defense, or that the murder was unintentional, or that the State’s evidence is insufficient to convict, or in the case of felony murder that the death was not caused by the commission of another crime. Additionally, there may be mitigating circumstances such that the facts only support a lesser charge.
